Jess Artigliere is an artist and educator living and working in Providence, Rhode Island. She studied studio art at Providence College, graduating with a BA in 2017. Much of Jess’s work deals with the tension that exists between touch and sight in the digital era. She is interested in exploring new ideas about gesture. Her work reinterprets the gesture as a collecting hand that receives and re-situates the world’s vertigo of visual information.

In addition to her studio practice, Jess is also an active member of her arts community. She currently serves as an artist in residence at Roger Williams Middle School, utilizing arts literacy and design thinking project-based learning to increase students’ habits of engagement. Jess also teaches courses on screen printing and art as activism at Providence CityArts for Youth.
